The Following Message From Cara Steely
When I look at Trinity, I see with my eyes, but more importantly, I feel with my heart. I see the beauty of God’s world in the stained glass windows in the sanctuary. I feel my heart uplifted with every measure of music played. I see smiles on the faces of the congregation that have been warmed by God’s acceptance. I feel my burdens lightened by a prayerful congregation that lifts up my concerns as if they were their own. I see the joy on the faces of the children as they gather to experience the wonders of Christ’s love for them. I feel pride when my children participate in Children’s Moments. (Especially when they know the answers!)

When I enter my Sunday school class, I see my friends. I feel their support through life’s ups and downs. I see the Believers Rotational Sunday School program transforming the children’s ministry into an exciting, interactive program to grow God’s children. I feel the compassionate way of Jesus in our active outreach and mission program to the community. I see the wonderful YCA programs. Through their message, I feel closer to God. I see opportunities to serve through committees, Vacation Bible School, and UMW circles. I feel fulfilled sharing a small piece of myself with others. I see God working through family and friends. I feel the forgiveness that comes only through knowing Jesus. I see a church. I feel at home. I consider myself blessed to see and feel these things at Trinity every week.

The Following Message From John Norman
When I first stepped foot into Trinity about 11 years ago (yes, time really does go by more quickly the older you get) I could never have imagined how much of an impact it would have in my life. I grew up attending a small church (another denomination) in a somewhat small Arkansas town. However, after moving to Little Rock in the late 1980’s, I found myself “church hopping” most Sundays, as I tried to find that extra-special church home.

I remember the first morning I passed through Trinity’s doors – thinking to myself – this is it! From the worship service to the Sunday school class to the church staff and members, everything and everyone at Trinity made me feel at “home”. Since then, although many things have changed in my life and in Trinity’s, it has grown to become the centerpiece of my family’s life. Most of our “goings-on” have associations with Trinity in one way or another – social gatherings with friends, youth programs, children’s choir, volunteer efforts, committee activities, nursery school, etc.

So when I stop and count my blessings, many have a Trinity flavor. For example:

  - We are blessed to have a group of supportive, close friends. Laurie and I were blessed early in our Trinity experience by finding an extraordinary Sunday school “home”. The people in this class are without a doubt some of the finest people with whom I have ever been associated. In addition to being great friends, they provide a nurturing Christian environment that is so important for us. These people are our extended family – and we really miss them when either of us is absent a Sunday or two!

  - God blessed Laurie and I with two wonderful children - who were both baptized at Trinity. This blessing continues with our involvement in Trinity’s wonderful nursery school and youth programs.

  - Trinity is blessed with numerous members that know what it means to be a Christian - and show it every day by their service to our community and church. This includes everything from volunteering to distribute food locally to volunteering to chair a committee or event. And I know I am becoming a better Christian by being associated with these folks.

Take some time this week to think about it from your perspective…………and I would guess Trinity will be associated with many of your blessings as well.

The Following Message From Don Stecks
Trinity United Methodist Church is one of the cornerstones in my life, as it has been for many years. My spiritual strength is drawn from the dedication of the pastor, the staff, the employees and the devoted individuals in our congregation. These few words give me an opportunity to say thank you to the many “unsung heroes” in our congregation who volunteer their considerable time and talent to ensure the successful operation of our church in reaching the goal of its full potential. Many of you serve as teachers, on boards, commissions, and committees. You are choir members, ushers, maintenance helpers, and do hundreds of other duties when requested. Many of you are involved in missions and social concerns which were programs begun by our Methodist founder, John Wesley, nearly 300 years ago. As Methodists, we historically utilize lay members in the operation of the church. Nowhere is it more evident than here at Trinity. I am aware that we Methodists don’t always agree on details, but do agree on major aspects of theology. Disagreement brings to mind an old Chinese proverb that states “Smooth seas do not make for a skillful sailor.” We, as Christians, strive to serve God, not ourselves.

Getting involved in the everyday life of the church is a responsibility of a Methodist. As members, we have promised to uphold our church by our prayers, our presence, our gifts and our service.

Personally, I feel the spirit of the Lord in our Sanctuary. With my family and friends surrounding me, I sense I am in the right place. I attend Sunday School and church to learn about God and His son, Jesus Christ. Trinity offers additional venues of study for spiritual enrichment for our members. My religious values are increased by the biblical and spiritual sermons from our ministers.

At Trinity I sense that the members of our congregation are dedicated to pursuing Christian goals which will further our commitment to God and His son, Jesus Christ, our Savior.
