See you on Sunday!

Salt Of The Earth
Taylor Building, Room 225

In this room, children eat and prepare food as an illustration of the Bible story, whether in direct relation to the story or as a symbol. This room can have a scientific emphasis where children participate in fun, scientific experiments!
  Cinema on the Mount
Taylor Building, Room 226

This is one of our most popular workshops! In this room, children explore the Bible story by watching a video followed by discussion time. Sometimes, we even create our own video and watch it in this room! Kids are drawn to this workshop because we serve popcorn and have REAL theater seating!!
  Temple Tales
Taylor Building, Room 222

Listen to a storyteller (in first person) and experience activities related to the Bible story. Children are immersed in "Bible Times" culture complete with a Bedouin tent, Persian rugs, floor pillows and even a fire pit!

Parable Players
Taylor Building, Room 227

In this room, children interpret the Bible story through large body movement, physical activities and games. This is a popular room because children can express themselves through acting, wearing "Bible Times" costumes, using props and playing musical instruments! Our drama room even has it's own dressing area, stage, stage lights and bench seating!
  Inspired Creations
Taylor Building, Room 224

Forget the craft sticks, markers and paper...in this room children relate to the story using art! Our art room is outfitted with artist stools and counter height tables, brightly colored walls and even a kiln to fire pottery. In this room the emphasis is on art rather than crafts.
  Heavenly Knowledge
Taylor Building, Room 223

Hands down this is the kids favorite workshop! In this workshop, children discover Bible skills while using the computer to learn and interpret the Bible story. Children also experience the geography of the Bible and learn what is happening in the world today with an emphasis on church missions.

  What Is Believers Sunday School?
The Trinity United Methodist Church Rotational Sunday School Program will Energize our children’s Christian ministry with creative, nurturing, child-oriented workshops that teach Bible stories; Inspire congregational involvement through active participation in the creation and operation of the program; and Strengthen our church base through community outreach.

The Workshop Rotation Model (WRM) was developed to address the many different learning styles of our children. The WRM offers 3 contemporary benefits to our Children’s Ministry program. It incorporates all learning styles, senses and a host of resources to reach our children.

The WRM is presented by teachers who have gifts for teaching in their workshop. It taps into the way the brain likes to learn – a multimodal fashion. It pays attention to all the ways a learner learns. It plants Bible stories, one at a time over a period of time, so that they can be carried by the learner far beyond the classroom to places where they can continue to unfold.

  Here’s Why It Works
  •   The workshops can include art, drama, audiovisual, music, kitchen, computers, and Bible games.
  •   Classes rotate to new workshops each week for 5 weeks but workshop teachers do not rotate.
  •   During that 5 week period, only one Bible story is taught.

  Frequently Asked Questions and Answers

How will I know which room my child will attend each week?

When you enter the “Gates To The City” you will find a wall-hanging designating grades & specific room assignments. Signs with the names of the workshop are hung outside each room.

When is Believers offered?

Believers is offered from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. every Sunday morning. Also during this time preschool, youth and adult Sunday School classes meet.

How many workshops are included in the Believers rotation?

Believers enjoy 6 different workshops.

What is the difference between a Believer Buddy & a teacher?

Believer Buddies are assigned to each grade whom they nurture and support for the entire year. Buddies do not prepare the lesson, but attend each workshop rotation and develop personal relationships with each child. Teachers with a wide variety of skills teach the same lesson 5 weeks in a row to different grade levels. Teachers may teach for one or more rotation. Lesson plans are provided.

How can I volunteer to work in Believers?

Contact Paul Owen, Christian Education Director (666-2813) to volunteer. Teachers, Buddies, Coordinators & many others are needed to make this a successful ministry!
